Leading brewery group gives away free packs of beer to bring friends together and bring a bit of cheer following the lifting of restrictions

After months in lockdown at home, brands were looking to bring a little bit of joy to consumers. This leading pilsner brand wanted to help its consumers celebrate with friends post lockdown by offering a free pack of beer.


With consumers still weary to go back into bars and restaurants, we decided to give away product for consumption at home. And we needed to come up with a Covid-secure way to distribute the product to as many shoppers as possible.


We devised a cashback promotion which would enable the brand to distribute its product safely through major retailers and allow consumers to be reimbursed for their purchase. To inspire selection in the moment, marketing was displayed at point of sale. This included a QR code which drove shoppers directly to the promotion on the brand’s website.


The campaign drove a really positive brand response and sampling of a new beer at scale. Almost 10,000 visitors came to the site during the campaign, with over 50% of them being driven by the in store marketing activities.
